LCC
CELEBRATION CHOIR MISSION STATEMENT
The
mission of the LCC celebration choir is two fold: first as a vital part of our church worship services, and second as a proclaimer
of the gospel to the unsaved world. God has commissioned musicians and singers to create an atmosphere in which true, heartfelt
worship can be offered to our creator. In his presence, everyone is touched by his power and renewed by his holy spirit. A
Holy Spirit filled choir, walking in the fear of the Lord, can proclaim the gospel in a unique way. God's presence ushered
in by the praises of the choir and the congregation brings life to a dying world and encourages those who need uplifting,
healing, and freedom to receive what the Holy Spirit has for them.
With such a mission and calling, commitment to the choir is not to be taken lightly. A portion
of time each month must be committed for attendance at services and rehearsals. At the present time, we will have rehearsals
on the 2nd and 3rd Thursday nights of each month at 6:30 pm and we will participate on the 3rd Sunday of each month
in the AM service. Other choir commitments will be considered as the choir grows and by instruction from the Holy Spirit and
our church leadership.
Unless you have
work or other service commitments which prohibit your attendance, your commitment is to be present for both rehearsals and
service each month. A second and very important area of commitment concerns lifestyle choices.
The choir pledge will state that we determine to walk circumspectly in the
world, to be faithful in our engagements, to avoid criticism or negative attitudes, to remember one another in prayer, to
aid one another in times of difficulty, and to cultivate Christian character in our lives individually and as a choir. LCC
leadership believes that Christians should live a lifestyle consistent with the teachings of Christ and asks its leaders to
refrain from such activities that would not bring glory to God.
A third area of commitment is the advancement of LCC and it's ministries--to promote its growth and spirituality;
to sustain it's worship, ordinances and biblical doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the church's
ministries and services; to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to all people who see and hear our witness of God's greatness
and love.
