LCC CELEBRATION CHOIR MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the LCC celebration choir is two fold: first as a vital part of our church worship services, and second as a proclaimer of the gospel to the unsaved world. God has commissioned musicians and singers to create an atmosphere in which true, heartfelt worship can be offered to our creator. In his presence, everyone is touched by his power and renewed by his holy spirit. A Holy Spirit filled choir, walking in the fear of the Lord, can proclaim the gospel in a unique way. God's presence ushered in by the praises of the choir and the congregation brings life to a dying world and encourages those who need uplifting, healing, and freedom to receive what the Holy Spirit has for them.

With such a mission and calling, commitment to the choir is not to be taken lightly. A portion of time each month must be committed for attendance at services and rehearsals. At the present time, we will have rehearsals on the 2nd and 3rd Thursday nights of each month at 6:30 pm and we will participate on the 3rd Sunday of each month in the AM service. Other choir commitments will be considered as the choir grows and by instruction from the Holy Spirit and our church leadership.

Unless you have work or other service commitments which prohibit your attendance, your commitment is to be present for both rehearsals and service each month. A second and very important area of commitment concerns lifestyle choices.

The choir pledge will state that we determine to walk circumspectly in the world, to be faithful in our engagements, to avoid criticism or negative attitudes, to remember one another in prayer, to aid one another in times of difficulty, and to cultivate Christian character in our lives individually and as a choir. LCC leadership believes that Christians should live a lifestyle consistent with the teachings of Christ and asks its leaders to refrain from such activities that would not bring glory to God.

A third area of commitment is the advancement of LCC and it's ministries--to promote its growth and spirituality; to sustain it's worship, ordinances and biblical doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the church's ministries and services; to spread the good news of Jesus Christ to all people who see and hear our witness of God's greatness and love.

Attention: CHOIR MEMBERS-----  Be sure to stop by the choir booth and sign up to work the table.  The choir table will remain in the lobby as a pick-up and info Station. Be sure to stop by every Sunday for upcoming events, music, notes and etc.   Right now we need you who have already signed up to stop by and sign up to work the table on Sunday mornings from 9:00 am to 10:30 am and then when church is over.  We would like at least 2 workers per Sunday.  There is sign up sheet on the table so get involved.

This is your choir, please help us promote it and keep our members informed.  Also, encourage others to get involved.   At my last count we are getting close to 80. WOW WOW   Wouldn't 100 praising singers on that stage be awesome, so get excited and spread the word. We will be on the platform for the entire worship service on the Sunday we sing (3rd Sunday AM service). Also we are scheduling a set-up practice for sound and lighting purposes soon so come by the table for the info.  If you know someone who is not sure, at least have them pick up a demo cd and the information letter so they can pray about being a part.

"Friends of the Choir " ministry is a part of the newly formed "Celebration Choir" ministry.  So many of you have said, "I am so excited about the choir.  I wish I could do something but I can't carry a tune in a bucket." Well, now there is something you can do.   We need help.  We need workers that will support the choir in many aspects that we will not have time to take care of. We are asking you that believe in this new work to jump on board and become a part of the "Celebration Choir" by joining the "Friends of the Choir" Team.We will be needing people who can sew, cook, serve, offer child care, send cards, write encouraging thoughts, make phone calls, man the choir table, etc.   So get involved and if you have something you like doing for others, let us know.  We need a support ministry to help us in this big step we are taking.  Stop by the Celebration Choir table in the lobby and sign up on the "Friends of the Choir" sheet and tell us what you want to do.

Start Celebrating with us today by using the gifts God has placed in you to share with the body of Christ   WE NEED YOU!Start celebrating now.   For the Lord is good and worthy to be celebrated.
