Hollie Bears Ministries

The Hollie Bear Ministry girls say "Thank You" to all that have contributed with funds, materials or time. This is an ongoing ministry and these Bears light up the hearts of many of those in hospitals, nursing homes, children's homes, crisis pregnancy center, and have also traveled to Africa and India. They are kept in every trunk in every Police car in Harrisburg and Eldorado to comfort a child in a bad situation. They are used here in the church and are available for you to give to anyone that is in need of uplifting. Please feel free to pick one up for that reason. Items that we regularly use are: material, thread, ribbon and stuffing. This is a wonderful ministry to be a part of and we have been blessed for it. If you would like to help in any of these ways, you will surly be blessed too!

This ministry originated with Sharon Hancock wanting to give Hollie Pemerton a gift as she was undergoing treatments for Cancer. The Lord laid it upon Sharon's heart to make her a little bear. After making the bear, she had no Idea how she was going to get it to St.Louis Children's Hospital. The following day, Sharon and Dawn Wilson went to see a Christian based show called Facing the Giants, and there in the Lobby was little Hollie. So, the trip to St.Louis was not needed,. Sharon had not been to see a movie in 20 years, so as Sharon puts it ; its like God had placed them both there for a reason. And this is how the Hollie Bears came to be. Sharon was told she needed to make and sell the bears and she replied, no, if I make anymore they wont be sold, they will be given away with the name " Hollie Bear" in recognition of Hollie's battle with cancer.Hollie is now in remision and has won the victory in the Lord!!

Renee Croce, RN, daughter of Leroy and Hilda Bozarth, with the help of volunteer OB nurses formed a commettee for Perinatal Loss at Henderson Methodist Hospital.  With no financial help from the hospital, they were willing to do this on their own.  So far this year there has been 78 miscarriages.  When the Bear Chicks heard of their need for bears to give to the grieving mothers, they gladly volunteered to help.  They have made over 70 bears.  God Bless the ministry of the Bear Chicks!

The Hollie Bears Continue to "Bear" fruit!!
The Bear girls were asked recently to team up with Cindy Winter's Modern Woodman Class
to help fill "Jared" boxes for the termanally ill children at St.Louis Childrens Hospital.
The group is collecting 75 boxes filled with small toys that will fit in a shoe box.
They will be taking the donated toys untill Sept. 25th.
Speaking on the behalf of all the "Bear Girls", it was our pleasure to contribute to
such a worthy cause and we encourage you to help fill these boxes for the children.
Thank you Cindy Winters and your class for the oportunity!
